Weblogs as literature ?

Un article de Steve Himmer (Emerson College) répond partiellement à la question que je me pose : comment suis-je passée du journalisme culturel au blog (avant qu’il n’existe d’ailleurs) ?

Sûr c’est une question de technique si SPIP est devenu mon compagnon de route depuis dix ans, mais en lisant cet article tiré de Into the Blogosphere je retrouve une analyse intéressante de nos motivations de bloggers.

Un peu d’anglais

 online writing,
 an online diary,
 a code of particular techniques,
 absence of a completed product (time),
 the format : archives, permalinks, time stamps, date headers (Hourihan, 2001)
 frequent updates of posts,
 readers become secondary authors : feedback,
 cybertext : any organization of information that includes a feedback loop, ergodicism relying on process rather than product (Aarseth, 1997)
 a literature of potentiality,
 multiple points-of-entry and of departure,
 potential to produce an infinite number of texts (interactions with links)
 the weblog is always in process : reconsideration of earlier words, onsite comments, offsite emails, responses posted on other weblogs,
 avant-garde art : the personal, the public and the political are inseparable,
 labyrinth : multiple trajectories,
 weblog authors write what they want to, in exactly the way they prefer.

Littérature je ne sais pas mais écriture, certes

Il manque peut-être dans la liste de nos motivations à choisir ce mode d’écriture, la souplesse des brouillons informatiques et le choix de la date de publication.
